Thursday, May.25, 2023 – Trading Options – Daily Journal

 

9:30am-10:00am: Started day long TSLA Calls and locked +100% gains (closed way too soon and TSLA now 10Bagger – timestamped here). Also got NFLX long stock at 361+ (timestamped here) and I hedged with QQQ Puts just as insurance. Took losses on those hedges but it was a great NFLX stock long and later I play also NFLX Calls.

9:32AM – TSLA May 26 $187.5 Calls from 1 to 2 for 988$ PnL*
9:34AM – QQQ May 26 $340 Puts from 0.75 to 0.8 for 50$ PnL*
9:38AM – GOOGL May 26 $124 Calls from 0.4 to 0.35 for -155$ PnL*
9:44AM – AMZN May 26 $117 Puts from 0.6 to 0.45 for -276$ PnL*
9:45AM – META May 26 $252.5 Puts from 0.55 to 0.4 for -292$ PnL*
9:48AM – COIN May 26 $57 Puts from 0.8 to 0.8 for -16$ PnL*
9:58AM – QQQ May 26 $341 Puts from 0.4 to 0.25 for -405$ PnL*
9:56AM – GOOGL May 26 $124 Calls from 0.4 to 0.55 for 345$ PnL*

 

10:00-11:00am: Tried to fade AMZN but too strong so took some losses and I kept rolling my QQQ PUT hedges against my NFLX big position stock long. Took losses on those QQQ Puts as expected and part of my risk management. I scalped NVDA Calls for +300% gains

10:02AM – QQQ May 26 $343 Puts from 0.9 to 0.6 for -344$ PnL*
10:19AM – IWM May 26 $175 Calls from 0.75 to 1.1 for 440$ PnL*
10:36AM – NVDA May 26 $390 Calls from 0.38 to 1.55 for 3011$ PnL*
10:52AM – QQQ May 26 $346 Puts from 1 to 0.8 for -212$ PnL*

 

11:00am-12:00pm: Scalped some SPY  Calls for +40% gains and NFLX Calls for +120% gains. Closed NFLX calls way too soon as run for +900% gains, so congrats longs

11:04AM – QQQ May 26 $346 Puts from 0.9 to 0.8 for -124$ PnL*
11:06AM – AMD May 26 $125 Puts from 0.6 to 0.5 for -191$ PnL*
11:19AM – IWM May 26 $175 Puts from 0.55 to 0.52 for -76$ PnL*
11:36AM – SPY May 26 $419 Calls from 0.75 to 1.05 for 375$ PnL*
11:45AM – NFLX May 26 $375 Calls from 0.6 to 1.3 for 1170$ PnL*

 

End of Day PnL = +4,027$ gains

 

End of Day emotions:  Was a great day with TSLA NVDA NFLX Calls. I made some mistakes by trying to fade AMZN and META but took the loss and move on. The biggest losing trades were on QQQ PUT hedges but they were to protect my NFLX stock longs, so its part of risk management and I take it with no problem as NFLX long stock and NFLX Calls more than paid those hedges. I’m staying disciplined, respecting my risk management and following my trading plan. Need to keep my focus and repeat the process over and over again!
