Friday, May.19, 2023 – Trading Options – Daily Journal

9:30am-10:00am: Scalped TSLA Calls right at 9:30am (I said my plan at 9:06am on chatroom) and locked +140% gains. Closed a bit too soon as trade hit more than +300% gains, so congrats to all longs. I also faded GOOGL with Put scalp for +90% gains. Tried to fade QQQ but it was stronger so I got out for ver small PnL.

9:30AM – TSLA May 19 $177.5 Calls from 1 to 2.4 for 1388$ PnL*
9:35AM – QQQ May 19 $337 Puts from 0.95 to 0.9 for -69$ PnL*
9:39AM – IWM May 19 $178 Puts from 0.65 to 0.7 for 57$ PnL*
9:43AM – GOOGL May 19 $125 Puts from 0.85 to 1.6 for 886$ PnL*
9:51AM – QQQ May 19 $337 Puts from 1 to 1 for -12$ PnL*

10:00-11:00am: Here was the painful hour with not much momentum so I took some small losses but thats ok. Was testing the waters and didnt risk holding for too long on OPEX day, so that was a good risk management.

10:00AM – QQQ May 19 $337 Puts from 0.9 to 0.98 for 75$ PnL*
10:13AM – SPY May 19 $421 Calls from 0.77 to 0.78 for -3$ PnL*
10:40AM – SPY May 19 $421 Calls from 0.69 to 0.65 for -73$ PnL*
10:46AM – SPY May 19 $421 Calls from 0.6 to 0.7 for 150$ PnL*
10:53AM – TSLA May 19 $177.5 Puts from 0.35 to 0.35 for -35$ PnL*

11:00am – 13pm: After 11am, things start getting way more volatile following Mr. Powell speech and SPY P420 scalp gave me +65% and QQQ P336 gave me +60% gains. I didnt hold the trades longer because OPEX day and my risk management made me lock gains.

11:08AM – SPY May 19 $420 Puts from 0.95 to 1.55 for 647$ PnL*
11:23AM – QQQ May 19 $338 Calls from 0.6 to 0.64 for 48$ PnL*
11:29AM – QQQ May 19 $336 Puts from 0.7 to 1.1 for 544$ PnL*

End of Day PnL = +3,603$ gains

End of Day emotions:  Overall, it was a great first 30min with big TSLA and GOOGL scalps, but from 10am up to 11am, got chopped up and should have gone into cash and wait. I lost some money on that 1hr, but I’m very happy with my risk management. After 11am, the SPY QQQ shorts made up some more cash flow, so I’m happy. With patience and never giving up, was able to follow my risk management and trading plan. Need to keep my focus and repeat the process over and over again!
