Trading Journal

08:36 am: “Futures red to start the last day of the week and giving a nice follow through continuation to yesterday bear flow early morning. It’s wise to trim gains and adjust stops to cap profits. Congrats shorts.

08:37 am: “Morning focus on stocks gapping down and see first 5-15min if they hold the opening print to bounce and fill morning gap OR make new lows for the week. It’s monthly options expiration day, so manage risk wisely and don’t risk too much.

Morning Trades: I started the day long AMZN TLT and TSLA with calls where I locked nice gains. I tried a QQQ short but as it was not having follow through, I closed and flipped into IWM Calls where I locked +100% gains and closed. Few minutes later as the market stalled higher, I re-open again QQQ Puts and ride it into +100% gains and closed all.

Loss review: I took less trades and locked gains on all, so no losses today. I’m happy with today’s risk management.

Key Takeaways: During volatile periods, traders trade… just take trades instead of trying to figure out what will happen next week, month, year as no one really knows.

Look Ahead: Next week, we are going to have AAPL AMZN GOOGL META MSFT earnings reports, so it’s hard to anticipate what companies will say and most important of all, how the market will react to those news. So into next week, I’m staying open minded and flexible for what may come next.
